Our moving process, step by step
What our team does in your home on survey day, packing day and moving day, and how each type of item is packed.
Every move we do follows the same process, whether it is one room in Aliganj or a full home going to Bangalore. This page explains each step in detail, so you know exactly what our team will do in your home.
1. Survey
A supervisor visits your home, or walks through it with you on a video call, and notes every large item, the approximate number of cartons, fragile and high-value pieces, and access at both ends: floor, lift, staircase width, lane width and where the vehicle can stand (long carry is not part of our scope). The survey takes 20 to 40 minutes for most homes and is free.
2. Written quote and move plan
You receive an itemised quote that separates packing, loading, transport, unloading, unpacking, any technician work, insurance and GST. For larger moves we add a short plan: crew size, vehicle, packing day and moving day.
3. Packing, item by item
| Item | How we pack it |
|---|---|
| Crockery and glass | Each piece wrapped in paper and bubble wrap; plates packed on edge; small strong cartons; gaps filled |
| TV and monitors | Foam sheet on the screen, bubble wrap, cardboard sandwich or original box; carried upright |
| Wooden furniture | Foam or bubble wrap on polished surfaces, corrugated sheet on top, corner guards, stretch film |
| Beds and wardrobes | Dismantled; screws bagged and taped to each item; panels wrapped |
| Fridge and washing machine | Defrosted and drained in advance; doors taped; foam and stretch film; kept upright |
| Mattresses and sofas | Polythene cover against dust and rain, then corrugated sheet on corners |
| Clothes | Folded into cartons or hung in wardrobe cartons |
| Books and files | Small cartons so they stay liftable; sealed and numbered |
| Marble, idols, art | Multi-layer wrap; custom wooden crate where needed |
Every carton is labelled with its room and a number that matches the inventory. See the packing materials we use.
4. Inventory and loading
The supervisor lists every item and carton. You check and sign the inventory and keep a copy. Loading follows a plan: heavy, strong items at the bottom and against the front wall; long items along the sides; fragile cartons on top; everything tied off in layers with ropes and blankets.
5. Transport
Local moves use the vehicle sized at the survey. Intercity moves use a dedicated or shared truck. Closed container trucks are supplied subject to availability; in the rainy season they are in very high demand. On long routes, your coordinator shares updates on location and expected arrival.
6. Unloading and checking
At the new home, each item is checked against the inventory as it comes off the truck. Furniture goes in first, then cartons room by room, kitchen first so you can make tea on the first evening.
7. Unpacking and setup
We re-fit carpenter-made furniture such as double beds, unpack cartons you want unpacked, place furniture where you want it, and take the packing waste away. Branded furniture needs the company's fitter, and appliances like window ACs, ROs, geysers and TVs need a technician to fit them; we arrange both and the cost is added to your bill, or you pay them directly. Split ACs need a technician for both uninstalling and installing.
8. After the move
If anything is missing or damaged, note it on the delivery receipt and tell us within 24 hours with photos. The trust and safety page explains how claims work.
