What happens on moving day: a 2 BHK move, hour by hour

Customers often ask what exactly will happen on moving day. This is how a typical local 2 BHK move runs for our team, from one part of Lucknow to another. Every home is different, but the rhythm is the same.

7:45 am: crew arrives

A supervisor and three packers arrive with the packing material. The supervisor walks through the home with you to confirm what is going, what is fragile, what you are carrying yourself and anything that should not be packed.

8:00 am: fragile items first

Two packers start in the kitchen and the showcase: crockery, glass and decorative pieces. One starts dismantling beds and wardrobes. Fragile things are packed first, while everyone is fresh and careful.

10:00 am: electronics and appliances

TVs, the fridge (defrosted the night before), the washing machine and other appliances are wrapped. If you booked an AC technician, he arrives now to uninstall the split ACs.

11:00 am: furniture and the rest

Sofas, the dining table and dismantled furniture are wrapped in foam, corrugated sheet and stretch film. Clothes go into cartons or wardrobe cartons. Every carton gets a room name and a number.

12:30 pm: inventory

The supervisor lists every item and carton. You check it and sign, and keep a copy.

1:00 pm: the truck is loaded

Heavy items go in first against the front wall, then large furniture, then cartons, with fragile cartons on top. Each layer is roped and covered. A 2 BHK takes about an hour to load.

2:00 pm: on the road

For a cross-city move, say Aliganj to Gomti Nagar, the drive takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic. Many customers ride ahead to open the new home.

3:00 pm: unloading and checking

Items come off in reverse order. You or a family member tick them off the inventory as they enter.

4:00 pm: setup

Beds are assembled first, then wardrobes and the dining table. The kitchen cartons are opened and the stove connected. ACs are reinstalled.

6:00 pm: done

We take away packing waste, do a final walk-through with you, and collect the remaining 20% of the payment (80% was paid at loading). The family sleeps in their own beds that night.
