Two families moving the same distance can get very different quotes. Here is what actually drives the price.
1. Volume of goods
The biggest factor. More goods means more packing material, more workers and a bigger truck. Clearing out what you do not need before the survey directly lowers the price.
2. Distance
Fuel, tolls and driver days rise with distance. Long routes also need stronger packing.
3. Packing type
Standard packing suits most goods. Extra layers, wooden crates for very delicate items and premium material cost more.
4. Dedicated or shared truck
A dedicated truck costs more but is faster and direct. Part-load sharing is cheaper for smaller moves with flexible dates.
5. Floors and access
Upper floors without a lift and narrow lanes add labour time. Long carry, meaning a long walk between the truck and the door, is not part of our scope, so check at the survey where the vehicle can stand.
6. Timing
Month-ends, weekends, festivals and the wedding season are in high demand. Mid-month weekdays are often easier to schedule.
7. Vehicles
Cars and bikes are priced separately by distance, size and carrier type.
8. Insurance and storage
Insurance is a small percentage of the declared value. Storage is charged by space and duration.
